INTERVIEW: Benjamin Grosvenor, pianist

British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor first came to fame after becoming the outstanding winner of the Keyboard Final for the 2004 BBC Young Musician Competition at the age of eleven. A few years later at nineteen, he performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra on the First Night of the 2011 BBC Proms. The same year, he signed to Decca Classics and became the youngest British musician to sign to the label. Since then, he has become an internationally recognized artist for his exhilarating performances and incisive interpretations. Classical contributor Jordan Buchholtz questioned Grosvenor about his progressing career and asked for insights about performing and recording at the piano. Grosvenor will be performing in the Friends of Chamber Music Series at the Folly Theater in Kansas City on Friday, April 25, 2014.
